It all started with Stores are Us and Stores Stores Stores, the companies my wife (Malka) and I (Ralph) started together in March 2005. We were young parents. Malka had just left a successful career in advertising, and I was about to become partner at Cool Cat Real Estate after heading the company’s real estate department for 5 years.

 

One evening, when I expressed my doubts about whether I wanted to make that kind of commitment, Malka suggested we should go in business for ourselves. And just like that, the business was born. 

 

At first, we focused exclusively on the main shopping streets in The Netherlands and Luxembourg. The combination of our expertise and passion resulted in more than 50 off-market transactions, of which we participated in 13 as junior partners, until around 2011.

 

Partly because of the effects of the credit crisis and because our clients asked if we could use our off-market expertise and passion more widely in the investment market. 

 

Since then, we've expanded our scope to include Residential, other commercial, and medical uses, and eventually changed our name to DVS Capital because Stores are Us just didn't fit anymore.

 

Despite this, our passion, expertise, insight, and ability to read what is happening in the main shopping streets is very alive and well. 

 

When it comes to real estate, I believe that the money is on the street. You just have to walk around and see it to pick it up.
